Point
The women in “The Good Earth” had low status and were expected to be subservient to the men in their lives in different ways.
Explain
For instance, when O-Lan married Wang Lung, she had to prepare for the wedding feast and it was expected of her to serve the men of the family and their guests first. She has to put their needs above her own even though it was her wedding as well. Furthermore, she exhibited great modesty by not allowing herself to be seen by other men on her wedding day.
Evidence
This was exemplified by the quote from pg 22 where Wang Lung was especially pleased with O-Lan when she said that she did not want to come out and eat with the men. “Wang Lung felt in him a great pride that this woman was his and did not fear to appear before him, but would not other men.”

Cheer up Emily. I know it sucks, but whatever, it's the faith curse. Sheesh. I wanted to tear the bloody scarf up. Nevermind! Like what I said when I was trying to be like, the new shaolin guru or something.

Just go and put up and good show and if the judges are biased or don't like it then it's their own problem. If we win, then it's a bonus!

But seriously, we did put up a good show! I got comments and all later and everyone thought we were really cute. And good. And they DEFINITELY thought we deserved the prize more than the other classes. No offense to them, but I think so too (: CHEER UP! It's not the end of the world! Plus, a certain someone apologized (sort of) to all of us today so GOOD. At least that's settled.

How can we possibly can't even get a 3rd in that stupid indian dance competition? We stayed back almost every recess, with people not having proper recesses and skipping their orange bowls. Others say we didn't get the prize cause once again, we relied on a teacher. But, i am sure none of us blame him, right? For he was the one who helped us through the whole competition. Instead, we should say thanks to him. Still, we lost, by a freaking half mark. Next time we should all just come up with a few steps reapeat them and get it done and over with. We wasted so much time on it! RAAAARRRRR.
Do you guys notice? we seem to be having bad luck, not winning any competition since last year.sigh. maybe, it's just fate.alright, since it's over, there is nothing more we can do. But ms su would like to say," you guys were great." (: Have a good rest! :D

Jubilate III was... haha. Pretty lax. Apart from the fact the S.O people had to climb like a zillion stairs in high heels. Just to get to our room, which happened to be quite high up. Higher than band's or C.O's, anyway.

I got so fed up I ended up walking around barefoot. HAHA. People were looking at me like I was crazy, but WHATEVER. WALKING AROUND IN 2 INCH HEELS HURT OKAY! AND AFTER CLIMBING UP AND DOWN A ZILLION STAIRS, YOU CAN'T BLAME ME FOR TAKING THOSE...THINGS OFF.

Whats up with the hello hello hello thing?! Crazy peole (: I only put three hellos cause I felt like it, not to continue the tradition of the prev person who put two.

Yeah I always feel kind of sad whenever I see one faith/ one grace now.

We never even got to take a class photo.

I thought I'd apologize for calling you all DUMB and NOT SMART because, contrary to what I said, you are all supremely intelligent beings who DID tie with the top class last year, MEP and all.

You DO study music, and not stupid lessons where you mold plastic and cook.

MUSIC:

I know, it sounds totally better than

COOKING:
the act of preparing something (as food) by the application of heat;

PLASTIC:
High polymeric substance.

Obviously you'd be under a lot more stress. Obviously you'd have less time to revise. Obviously you're all geniuses but you don't want to bother.

I will try not to shout so much during lessons and be less of a barbarian than my student Regina New.

I will try not be such a moneyface and demand a Merc from poor Teo Liang everytime I come into your class.

I will try not to say 'you must love me' every Valentine's Day, because I know the thought is icky and all of you shudder.

We all know one faith '05 rocks.

But we'd rock even more if some people actually bother to post. As in, a blog post.

Gah. Maybe we should change our class password. I think our old rehcaet shtam rocks, compared to this gnikcuf ydoolb one. Agree? She goes round saying we think we're so smart, like hello, since when have we ever said so? I'm sure we're all perfectly aware that other classes console themselves, telling each other that 2F has done worse in this and that test.

But nah, maybe not. After all, we're talking about last year. That fatass didn't exist last year, did she? Not much, except when it came to spot-checking. Ever since we stepped into the school, all those who had brains knew of the fact that she loathed this stupid class who gave the teachers nothing except problem after problem, from late homework to poorly presented projects and a lousy attitude.

As always, nobody understands this musically elite class. They just don't understand musical geniuses. They heap so much expectations on us, expecting us to be able to take it all in. Hello? Even musicians have their limits.

Take mr foo's eccentric artistical temperament, for instance. Yeah yeah, he's in art. Music is a performing art. So there.

Okay, I'm sorry if any of you misunderstood my email. Which I understand that quite a lot did. When I said "please do not tell me you are not coming unless you have a good reason to", I was talking to those who had said they were coming. Happen if quite a lot of people from faith who said they were coming didn't turn up, I would have mrs tham to answer to. she'd probably kill me and all, cos according to her, she had to pay this guy to come give the workshop.

I just didn't want the above scene to happen. Okay?

And I did not make you all go. I was making you to reconsider whether you should go or not. It's two different things. You can still say you didn't want to go, and I couldn't say anything.

Reason why I didn't turn up was cos I had a fever and an eye infection. Hope that is good enough reason?

althou we all slack n heck care bout things lyk talenttime, tt doesnt mean we have no talent it juz means we r too modest to show them cuz if we show them, all of u will be too shocked to continue on ur item.n althou we may b e most notorious class n give lots of problems, i believe tt at heart we r all wonderful pple who have wonderful characters. n pple can say wadeva they wan to say n we wont care.cuz its most of the time not true.

Hahah, I went to go log in as onefaithofive- and I was all like, Huh? There's no such id? Then I came here, thanks Stacy.

One year has passed so fast and it has been really enjoyable with you guys. Though I know many of us have had all these small little squabbles or as big as they might have been blown up into, our class is still very nice and all. To me, at least. Everyone has contributed his and her every bit and the feeling is wonderful baby! Haha, I'm a little cranky, I apologise. Anyway, I really do hope that all of us are in the same class next year again! We'll rock the school again!
